Farmers Bank Renovation

Historic 1835 bank building transformed into a modern hub for the Delaware State Bar Association, complete with a vault-turned-law library.

Renovation of a 15,000 square foot, three-story historical bank building for the Delaware State Bar Association. Known as the Old Farmers Building, this landmark was originally constructed in 1835 and once housed the Farmers’ Bank of the State of Delaware. Located in the LOMA district near the Justice Center, the project preserved the building’s historic character while adapting it for modern use. The former bank vault was transformed into a law library, and the locked steel door of a walk-in vault, one home to the bank’s reserves, now serves as the dramatic entry to a conference room, a focal point of the main floor.
