History

Emory Hill Companies was founded in 1981 in Newark, Delaware by R. Clayton Emory and Robert H. Hill, with Carmen J. Facciolo Jr. joining the firm as a partner in 1983. The company began as a real estate development firm, with Emory Hill & Company established to provide comprehensive construction management and design-build services.

In 1983, Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Inc. was formed to support property management, maintenance, and brokerage services as independent but integrated offerings. This division expanded the firm’s ability to provide end-to-end real estate services, supporting both Emory Hill–owned assets and properties owned by third-party investors.

In 1997, the brokerage division aligned with NAI Global, the world’s leading managed network of commercial real estate firms, and NAI Emory Hill was formed. This affiliation expanded the firm’s ability to serve clients with regional, national, and international real estate needs. In January 2008, Jim O’Hara Realty joined the Emory Hill family of companies and now operates as the retail brokerage division of NAI Emory Hill.

Emory Hill continued its regional growth with the opening of a Lewes, Delaware office in 2012, strengthening the firm’s presence in Sussex County and southern Delaware. From its original office in Newark, the company’s operations have expanded to serve clients throughout Delaware and surrounding areas of Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, with offices currently located in New Castle and Lewes, Delaware.

Today, Emory Hill Companies provides integrated commercial and residential real estate services across brokerage, construction, property management, maintenance, and residential real estate. The firm’s growth has been guided by a long-term commitment to quality, collaboration, and hands-on involvement throughout the life of a real estate asset. Whether supporting large-scale developments or addressing specialized property needs, Emory Hill Companies approaches each assignment with the same focus on thoughtful execution and lasting client relationships.
